Andrew Isdale is a mixing engineer, producer, and musician based in Auckland, New Zealand. With strong musical foundations in jazz, rock and drum & bass, he has worked with artists across Aotearoa spanning a wide range of genres. His mixing credits include Katchafire, Reiki Ruawai, Summer Thieves, Joe Kaptein, Thabani Gapara and Crystal Chen.What sets Andrew's mixing apart is the combination of musical sensitivity from years as a touring jazz session musician, and the technical precision of a drum & bass producer. That combination creates a versatile skillset that brings clarity, dynamics, depth and musicality to densely arranged music.Andrew’s workflow is fast and efficient. Years of hands-on studio experience combined with a background in jazz improvisation allows him to quickly create or replace parts as needed, whether it’s sax, guitar, bass, or keys. If your track needs a full mix & master or an arrangement needs filling out, Andrew can sort you out.

Services

Mix & Master – $200-$400 + GST (includes mastering)
Contact for a quote – cost depends on the number of tracks/stems, the condition they are in, and whether or not vocals need Melodyne.
Send a recording of the track when requesting a quote, plus a link to a reference track.Mastering – $75 + GST
For tracks already mixed and ready to finalise.
Fast turnaround, mix feedback included if needed.Stem Mastering – $100 + GST
A final set of ears on the balance and dynamics of the drums, bass, instruments and vocals before mastering.Session Playing – Contact for a quote.
Alto, Tenor, Soprano and Baritone Saxophones. Alto and Tenor are vintage Selmers.
Electric and Acoustic Guitar. Fender or Gibson style electric tones, and a nice Japanese made K Yairi acoustic.
Keyboards. 1977 Rhodes Mark I, 1950s fully restored Welmar Baby Grand, and assorted plugins if needed.
In-person or remote.All prices are in New Zealand Dollars; GST does not apply for international payments.
